Did you know that the military is one of the most suicide-prone professions in the United States? Veterans account for 20% of all suicides, even though they make up only 8.5% of the population. That's why LIFE Talks is working to change how we think about and talk about the military. LIFE Talks is a program that provides free, stigma-free mental health counseling to members of the military and their families. LIFE Talks is changing the way we think about mental health and breaking down barriers to treatment. If you're a military leader, family member, educator, counselor, or airman, check out this program! It could save lives.
LIFE Talks is a new initiative that changes the way we think about the military. One of the goals of LIFE Talks is to reduce the number of suicides among airmen by providing counseling and community support. The program has been very successful so far, and it is making a positive impact on the mental health of our airmen. The program is designed to help airmen develop positive coping skills, and it provides treatment for those struggling with mental health issues. The program is also working to build a stronger community within the military, and it is making a difference in the lives of airmen across the country.
When an Airman struggled with suicidal thoughts, he didn't turn to the military for help. Instead, he found support from an unlikely source: a platform called LIFE Talks.
LIFE Talks is a comprehensive platform that explores mental health, counseling, and community development from the perspective of airmen. The platform is operated by TSgt Michael Yearby and his wife, Esther, also an airman.
Since its inception, LIFE Talks has helped change the way we think about the military. It has shone a light on the issue of suicides in the military, and it has helped raise awareness of the need for better mental health treatment and counseling. In doing so, it has become a lifeline for airmen struggling with mental health issues.
Thanks to LIFE Talks, airmen are no longer struggling alone. They have a community of support that understands their unique challenges and is there to help them through difficult times.
So, what is LIFE Talks? It's a movement. A community. A safe space for growth and change. It's a place where we can all come together to share our stories and learn from each other. And it wouldn't be possible without the support of people like you. Thank you for your contributions – through your volunteer work – which have helped make LIFE Talks a success today. If you haven't already, I encourage you to get involved in this life-changing organization by signing up to be a life member at LIFE Talks. With your help, we can continue making an impact on the military community one conversation at a time.
